about

Two decades have passed since Alcotomic’s final live appearance in Flinders Lane, Melbourne. Since then, all three former members have gone on to play with the bands Prettymess, the Living End, Pollyanna, P76, Magneto and Five Mile Sniper.

The Recently discovered 2 inch master tapes recorded with music producer by Nic Moore at X-Tek Studios, have been dusted off, remixed and brought back to life.

It’s an incredible snapshot in time of a indie power pop band at their peak in 1998 between national tours, festival shows, television appearances and sell out shows.

This seven track EP called Bad Suits & Dirty Rumours is hard hitting and bristling with energy, humour and enthusiasm that typically comes from years of touring and musical bonding.

Historically, this EP reflects an extraordinary period in Australian music. An era where FM Radio and television supported the thriving music scene which was exploding with incredible and innovative bands and arguably, was to be the last of the golden years of pub rock.

Plug it in, turn it up and enjoy the journey.

Alcotomic shone through with their unique brand of melodic, hard edged power pop and became part of the now famous 'Melbourne Sound'. ... more
